Sun sun sun here it comes..

Just on my way to visit my Oma, gonna stay over night I reckon- been feeling a bit lonely and sad since I've been back.
It's amazing weather here today, sun is shining and its about 17 degrees (tropical right!?) Just listening to George Harrison's album 'Let It Roll: Songs By George Harrison' and it is just the perfect album for the first day (I hope..) of Spring!

Found this old album the other day- I remember when I used to play Razorlight on my guitar, those were good days.
I've just been for a brilliant run, along the Dreisam (the river flowing through Freiburg..) to Littenweiler- the sun was setting as I set off, and pitch black with stars by the time I got home. Perfect.
I also locked myself out my flat earlier, which was fun.. I got advised by a friend to just break in using some screw drivers to get the door off! (Apparently it works if you live in Mannheim. Remind me never to live there..)!

Nicole and I went to a floh (flee/second hand) market yesterday- it was actually impressively good.. I was rather sceptical beforehand- it was a German vintage fair!! But I managed to pick up a few bargains, for example- this Levi jacket, I have been searching for decent one for such a long time, plus(!!) I haggled it down to a mere five euros.. FIVE EUROS!!!! Me <3 it, massively.
Time for The Big Bang Theory and some rice cakes for me now though.. Happy Monday -x

Pancakes. I'm rather proud of myself really- didn't think they would actually be edible! However, we shall see if I fall ill tomorrow or not.. First came savoury- I attempted to fry broccoli and courgettes in a pot, but didn't turn out half bad (the tomato source probably helped..) and then I didn't have a whisk or a sieve, so the batter  was a tad lumpy- but they tasted all right! Plus- I even managed to get a few good pancake tosses in! Think I better get on with the dishes.. -x

Met up with a few good mates today, and we found this alternative bar/pub- we originally just wanted a toilet but ended up staying there for a bit, purely because they had such amazing wallpaper!! We chatted to the guy who owns it, and managed to get him to let us use the space for a few photo-shoots we've been planning! I'm loving not having to go to the Language School right now- total chill time!
I've gotten a few emails back about flats, and I was meant to go look at one today but I couldn't find the damn place!! I was walking around like a mad-man for ages.. Gave up in the end- clearly wasn't meant to be. Currently watching Sherlock Holmes 2 though- and shit man, it is scary! Don't want Shelly to die :( -x

In Stuttgart airport yesterday I saw a poster advertising a gig with Chich Corea and Bobby McFerrin, 'Together Again'- I can't say I would have ever put these two together, but after a bit of looking around and listening to the stuff they have done together, I am impressed! So much so, that I think I might just spend 41euro's on a ticket, plus about 30euro's to get to Stuttgart, plus a place to sleep, plus food and drink.. Maybe I'll have to think about it a bit more.. (I'm on a saving mission right now)!
But yes, I have just got back from an amazing ten days in good ol' England- loved being back so much!! Saw friends, family, cities and several fields.. Few pic's from my time in London and the last few days in England, with two girls from H&M (where I work out here..)

FLAT SEARCHING

Woke up super early this morning for some bizarre reason, and been spending a few hours doing some flat searching- and it has been going surprisingly well.. Fingers crossed!!

I had the best Valentine's Day yesterday. Visited some friends around the country! Went to Sheffield first for an hour or so, then up to Leeds to spend the day with my fav red-headed girl! She took me shopping, we drank coffee, spent far too much money (seeing as I'm going to London tomorrow..), meet up with another good friend, and then she even cooked us a Mexican dinner! I couldn't have asked for a better day..

So I've just been doing errands today- sorting out courses, cards, flat searching, booking train tickets and hostels, dashing to town to buy chocolates and the new Johnny English 'Reborn' film.. My dad broke his ankle on Sunday on a run, so it's been my job to look after him- meaning lots of biscuits, choc's, cups of tea and funny films!
Off for a run in the rain myself now, but not until side 1 of this [Fleetwood Mac] album is over.. I've been listening to my vinyl player all the time these past few days, its soo good to be back so I can listen to it again! As soon as someone comes over with a car to visit me in Germany, I will have to make sure they bring my record player (and my stupid amount of vinyl's..) with them!!

Its sunny and cold in England. Woo. I'm so happy to be back, I'm literally just chilling and doing nothing- feels so good! Getting well fed, getting my washing done, not having to spend money for food. Who ask for more?
Last night we watched 'Midnight In Paris'- it was soo good! I was really tired so didn't concentrate that much, but still, a good watch! Certainly makes one want to go to Paris again..
Speaking of which, me and my mad red-headed beauty of a friend Yasmin, are thinking of going to Paris in April.. I hope we have enough money to go!!
(England won against Italy today, in the Six Nations League.. Just in case you wanted to know- waaahhhooooo!!)

So I'm on my way home to England- got up at quarter to five and still didn't manage to tidy my dishes away!! I have had pretty much next to no time these past fews days- its been mental!! Elodie slept over last night which was lovely, we've just said good-bye to each other on the platform as I got on the train.. So sad!!
Just listening to Bob Dylan's 'Blonde On Blonde' while eating my breakfast of a bretzel and reading 'Der Grosse Gatsby' (it was on offer at one of the many bookshops of Freiburg and its lovely, old and hardback, so I just couldn't resist!)
Got another hour and a half on this train, so tired! I think I've slept about 15 hours in the last three days..!
Quick picture of this weird drink from last night- me and Elodie went to Oscar's for a quick bite after I'd finished work- its a Swiss drink, alcohol free, with 35% Milchserum (whatever that means..) but it was very un-milk like(!) more Sprite like.. Refreshing, though in the small doses!

I bought Forst Gump on DVD today, it was on offer and I couldn't resist. It is such an amazing film- it was always the film that me and my brother watched when we were ill. Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors of all time, he has such class, and is of course a superb actor- which helps!
I started watching it in German, but I couldn't take the fact he didn't have a proper Alabamian accent (like Forest Gump should have of course..) so I re-started it, and its a lot better now!

I managed to get a fair amount of work done today after strolling round town for hours in the freezing cold with Elodie after school, got a few good skype's in, gym session, say good-bye to a friend, and now its time for a good ol' film.

Sometimes we all do things that make no sense.. I've done some things recently, I don't know why I did them, I'm not sure yet if I regret them, sometimes I wish they had turned out differently, sometimes I wonder if I'm somehow not on the right path, I think I could maybe have done that differently, maybe I should never have met that person, maybe I should have. We will never know, but what we do know is that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes I just wish I knew what will happen in the future. Sometimes I just wanna run.. -x

Its been a lazy day for me today- sleeping till midday, staying in bed doing work, getting up to clean flat, Skype-ing, putting off going to the gym, booking train tickets to London town, looking for flats..
What have you all been up to?
Elodie and I went to go see an amazing film last night, it was incredible! Auf Deutsch heisst es 'Ziemlich Beste Freunde' aber auf Englisch 'Untouchables' and in French 'Intouchables'. Its a French film, directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, starring François Cluzet and Omar Sy- and they played their characters down to a tee. It was superb. Had us laughing, crying, aww-ing, and even thinking about the morals of humanity. I cannot stress enough, even the other reviews I have read cannot stress enough, how much one should experience this film. It will have you thinking about how you live your own life for weeks. Easily, in my opinion, one of the best French films I have seen.
(We went for some drinks afterwards..)

Five days until I go home. Five days until Elodie goes home. Two months until we will see each other again. After five months of seeing each other almost every day. Big changes to come. I hope they won't be too scary.. -x

Latest in: 77 mins, England 13-6 Scotland. The RBS Six Nations has started today- man how I have missed rugby!! France beat Italy earlier, 30-12, in Paris! Next week should be good- I'll be back in England, perfect timing for the match against Italy! Hopefully Toby Flood will be back playing too, he's the fly-half for England and plays for Leicester Tigers (my home team..)! We <3 him.
So had work today- then helped the brother of Elodie's guest family out with some German/English translations, now off to the cinema, so tired and as its now about -12, it is taking a lot for me to go outside..

I love this girl. I saw her live in 2010 at Latitude Festival and she stuck in my mind, even after only hearing her for ten minutes (Mumford & Sons were playing on the main stage, so had to dash off to see them..!) and I have re-discovered her and her fantastic voice! (Check out the song 'Money' too!)
School, shopping, skype-ing, coffee at Irish pub, bread and cheese and fruit for dinner.. Figured I should have an early night seeing as its -10 outside..!!!
