Got an email from my Daddy today, with this link (also him telling me he's bought himself a 32gig Ipod touch the other day.. man oh man- I'm jel!) and honestly, I'm listening to it over and over again, I could so imagine him sitting in our music room at home, attempting to play along with John Renbourn(and not gonna lie, never heard of this guy before today..)!
19 days till I go home people, can you tell I can't wait?!
I also got another rather lovely surprise through the post when I got home this evening.. a 50% off 'worker' gift voucher at H&M- God, I love my job!!! Off to make some soup now though, good ol' fashioned tomateo (I can't be bothered to food shop now-a-days..) -x

Went to Schlappen after work today with some girls, after a while I finally got into the German-ness and began to actually get involved in the conversation- thank god(I was beginning to think I'm never gonna fit in here if I can't talk the friggin' language..) Meanwhile, my PK(Personal Karte..(my discount card)) still hasn't arrived. Getting annoyed about that now. PLUS(!!!) all workers get a 50% discount atm, for some reason, but it hasn't come through for all the new workers- so friggin' annoying!! It basically means we could buy a hundred euro's worth of stuff for fifty euro's!!!!
Anyway I've done all ma work(almost) for tomorrow, so off to bed with Robinson Crusoe me thinks. Night y'all.. P.s- it was 11 degrees here today(IN THE SHADE.).. I was wearing my sunglasses and no coat. I'm beginning to believe Global Warming is catching up with us.. -x

In the summer I came across this magazine called INDIE- its an Austrian magazine, dealing with fashion, music and anything the old 'INDIE' may find remotely interesting. I love it. Plus, as you can get it in German, its the perfect excuse for me to buy it, as I'm clearly Verbessering(bettering) my German by reading it, right?! Anyway, what I particularly loved about the Autumn edition is that they have a big music feature on a load of bands I've recently been listening to, plus one (Laura Marling) who I am pretty much in love with(as you've probably already realised) But reading it, made me wanna write some more music, so plan of action now..

So I feel like I've been so lazy the past few days, although in actual fact I've done rather a lot.. Nice lie in on Saturday, a little run, then off to work, the Christmas work party(amazing!) then today, as it was first of Advent, I went to visit my family in the Black Forest. Was lovely.
Although this morning, I got a cup of tea to wake me up(rather late last night..) and the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted some lemon in my tea(I'd ordered black tea, of course.) and I(obviously..) said no, just milk. He then asked me if I was English. Damn it.
So last night.. WAS SO MUCH FUN MAN! I was super tired, headache and everything- but with the help of the girls, we all went down to this underground(another one..) pub place in the Rathaus Platz and got our boogie down in the name of H&M. There was glu wein(mulled wine) food, drink, music, plus, a weird Cluedo detective thingy. The bosses and the other more important people in our Filiale(branch) all dressed up as different charatcers from some Sherlock Holmes tale and all played their part in a little theatrical piece, and we(all being sat on specific tables in relation to the characters..) had to figure out who killed who and all that. It was quite funny! However, I reckon it would have been a lot more funny if I had known what was being said.. Bit of a bummer that. But my table did win!!! So we got a couple of bottles of bubbly- went down well.
Anyway- on the train home today from my Oma's(Grandma's) I met a friend of Ben's, who lives in Heidelberg.. It was the most bizarre thing! He didn't know I was in Germany, so it was a bit of a shock for him to randomly see me, but we had a good chat and I think I'm going to go visit him and his girlfriend in Heidelberg sometime- I've never been so I defo think it would be a good idea!
I'm gonna head off to bed in a min me thinks, so tired. But first..

Went to the gym tonight, now off to bed. Gonna go for a run tomorrow morning before work me thinks- I miss running so much, but hate going on my own out here. Makes me miss everyone..

I'm currently listening to an extended version of this on Spotify- man, she is SO good.
I took ma laptop to "school" again today, to try do some work and stuff while in town- but when I got to Starbucks I sat in a little corner and thus had no signal to get internet, so couldn't do what I wanted to(I could easily have moved to another spot, but I get lazy when its cold and winter like..)  So here I am, back at home. Have nothing planned tonight. And it's a Friday as well- weird. But probs a good thing, as I left kinda ill this morning.. Try get an early night. Although I've been saying that the past couple of nights and it ain't been happening.
Yesterday I had the best surprise ever when I get home from work. A hilarious letter from Yasmin, I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry.. And I also got a package from Mumma, containing a couple of dresses for the upcoming party weekends, an Advent's calender, some Lindor chocolate's and (personally I find this the best part..) SOME MINCE PIES!!!(I think it was Dad's idea to put them in.. and man- am I glad, amazing idea.)
So earlier everyone had other stuff to do, so I had lunch on ma own- but strolled around a bit first, cause it was super sunny, freezing, but sunny! And so went to the Munster market place, which in my opinion, is one of the best(smaller scale) markets ever. Especially at Xmas time- its so pretty and got such a variety of different things! Anyway- I bought some oranges, still with the green bits on them and everything.. I felt so cool buying them. So I have just had one, wow- amazing. But the second and third were weird as. Like EW. Really put a downer on my orange eating times.
Right it's half five and I really need to go the post office before six. So have a fun Friday night -x

Just a few pictures from the weekend ma brother came to visit. Number one is a pic of the Baechle I've previously spoken about, and they put little boats and stuff in them.. So cute! The second is my brother.. he loves little streets and stuff, so we went exploring while waiting for my aunty and cousin to arrive. Third is a gorgeous sunset from this hill called 'Schlossberg'- (amazing views from up there!!) Fourth is an interesting on, it is pretty much the painting of the Saint of England, Saint George, no? With the flag, the dragon and even the name- so confusing. Defo something to Google in the near future! And finally the fifth is me and my new city. I'm currently on a break at "school" so I should probs head back in a min. Got work later, and then might be meeting up with Elodie for dinner- probably Schlappen as ever.. Much love -x

But as soon as I get my discount card at work I am purchasing those trousers, that I am positive about. They are however very un-German and un-Freiburg, so walking around town in them will be fun!!

David Gilmour. One of the four legends of Pink Floyd. I used to think his music, both solo stuff and PF stuff was scary. I couldn't listen to it 'cause it just freaked me out so much! But now, I've grown up and come to realise how friggin' awesome he really is.
Today has been a slow day, it is positively horrid weather outside and I am feeling super sleepy and bored. I am currently sitting in Starbucks, and this mocha(which I have annoyingly just finished) has been the only good thing today(how sad does that make me seem.) Anyway- I have a super amount of work to do for "school" and I seriously ceeeeeebs to do it. Probs why I'm just gonna sit here and make a few more playlist's on Spotify.
I can't stop thinking about going home. Which is good, but very bad. But everything is so friggin' Christmas-y here. The couple downstairs put up their decorations yesterday, now the whole house- right up to my flat- is covered from ceiling to floor with Santa's, reindeer, and other xmas-y things which I can't of right now, but everything's red, green and brown. Bah Humbug. -x

Me and Elodie went swimming after school too today, now I feel like I need to sleep for twelve hours. But off to the cinema tonight I think.. Might nip off to the gym now too, as I really should use what I'm paying for, ha! When my aunty came up to see me and Ben on Saturday she'd bought me an Advents calender.. Now I have a question- normally we start opening them on the first of December, right? So that means we can't open anything on Sunday.. even though its the first of Advent? That's a bit of a shame. I like eating the chocolate in the mornings.

- just had an amazing conversation with my favourite red-headed girl. I'm missing fam and friends so much today, it was so good having Ben over to visit.. It's a bit lonely now- but gotta get back into the swing of things again! "School", swim, gym time tomorrow- should be good. Might even make a trip to this cool independent cinema place!
I've been listening to Doves and Joy Division today.. Had lunch before work at a salad bar, sat there with my Hesse book(finished Joyce last night..) and Doves. Sunshine..

Today has been a super sunny, gorgeous day- after a slow morning, in which Ben just sat with the laptop and worked, while I read and showered, we made our way into town for brunch at my fav bakery. It was lush. Earlier we had made plans with my aunty to meet at two, so before we strolled around a little- going to H&M(I needed jeans and a proper winter coat- but the coat that I wanted wasn't in the sale(but I defo swear it is, so gonna have to check with someone else on Monday, to see if I can get at least 30 euro's back, ha!).) Eventually we met up with my aunty and one of my cousins, and wandered up this hill overlooking the city.. As it was so sunny it was perfect. Pretty warm as well(for November anyway). After that we went to a coffee bar for some hot choccy- as the inside of most places in Freiburg are quite small, there are always a lot of seats outside, and the café's each have their own coloured blankets you can use to keep warm when it gets chilly!- so we ended up sitting outside, with our HC and all wrapped up in blankets!! So cute!
Ben and I have just come home to warm our bones and relax a bit before going out for dinner and some drinks later- he's just discovered the organ I have in my flat.. So it's probs gonna be a while before I can drag him away from playing that for some food. Damn it.
I bought a new camera today..(no, still not a new proper one, I mean a new disposable one..) so been using that- but means I'll have to wait a while before I put the piccy's up from today!
I'll put the ones from last weekend up sometime soon too.. It's been so hectic this week, with work and that- I'm feeling so lazy, ha!
In town, there were loads of buskers- it was amazing! Plus, I bumped into this three guys who were playing at The White Rabbit first time I went.. The guy who played 'Ain't No Sunshine' with the amazing voice. Man- fit. They were playing in the street, and had brought out an old sofa to sit on while they play!! Ben's first reaction- arrogant. Mine? HOW COOL.
I really want to start doing some busking.. Need to get my arse in gear and go to the 'Amt' where the "important people" sort it out, when and where one is allowed to play- so German.
Right this is turning into a right essay- gonna go stop Ben playing the same chords over and over again now, there's only so much organ I can stand.. See ya'z -x

First visitor..

Got my first visitor today- my older bro. So happy to have someone I can natter away to properly in English- which is always fun! Missed him, a lot. In fact, I just miss people who understand me when I say, 'As if you ain't lol-ing at that..' (p.s. I would probably never say such a sentence, it's just a typical English one that popped into my head..)
After I'd finished my final horribly long shift of the week, we went to 'Schlappen' (of course!) and ate loads, drank loads and chatted even more. Such fun!
Tomorrow includes having a lie in and then a slow trot to ma fav bakery- apparently my aunty and cousins are coming down to visit us too, so should be all good.
Anyway- I am being a rubbish host and typing away here, so gonna head off and leave the couch to Ben..(As if I'm gonna give up my bed.. HA!) -x

Found this- I'm in a super romantic mood- had a morning at "school" then an afternoon/evening at work- then it was pub time. Just got home and wanted to share my love of LC. Missing the guy who properly introduced me to him.

Big jet plane..

I am still totally obsessed with this song by Angus and Julia Stone- its just so so good, I can't stop listening to it.. I may have also been slightly upset at work today because it only came up on the playlist once..!
Was watching 'Withnail and I' earlier again while I had my dinner(of scrambled eggs.. again.) and I got an unexpected phone(skype) call from my next door neighbour!! Such a nice surprise- he's at Sheffield and appears to be loving it which is all good.. I want to plan a street party for when I get back and I think leaving him to organise it ain't a good idea.
This is just a short post before I got to bed, as I am super tired and it's already eleven o'clock, plus I need at least half an hour in bed to read before I can sleep.
I'm still reading 'Dubliners' by Joyce- its so good!! Thinking of planning a quick trip at Easter time to Ireland, as I have booked off two weeks.. But then again, whether I get those two weeks or not is a different question!

I am disappeared..

I love listening to Frank Turner in the morning, his voice is so English- I love it!
After work this evening I went to Starbucks 'cause the teacher gave us a super amount of horrid grammar work for tomorrow morning and seeing as I was working seven ish hours straight after "school", I figured I needed to go some place where there's loads of people working.. i.e. Starbucks!! I am so well known there now by the guys who work there that I got a free cup of tea- woo! So defo worth it. Oh soz- I'm not allowed to say defo anymore.. Apparently I over use it!(?) I got most of my work done by the time they closed anyway, so that's all good!
I got another package through the post today, yay! My parents still love and miss me enough to send me the occasional bundle of clothing, nail varnish and chocolates! So currently pigging out on Bailey's mini truffles- yum.
I got the best phone call today.. Sami(boy Sami for those who know my friends..) rang me, thinking I was in Wales(where I was supposed to be at Uni..) and was rather shocked to hear I was still over here- ha! Chatting to him made me really miss my mates at home, its sad! But only four and a half weeks until I can go home!!!!! WOO.
Don't get me wrong, I love it here- but a girl has the right to miss her pillow..(I'm not being metaphorical or anything- I genuinely mean my pillow.. I love that thing.) -x

Hello mister..

Someone take me for a ride on a big jet plane!??!
This song pops up on the H&M playlist-(which after working for about seven hours, I have heard on repeat- a lot.) But this song remains brill. I have noticed a few costumers staring at me as I try and sing along though..
I got to be on the Kasse for a while today, and had to count up all the dollar at the end- although whenever I look at euro's all sacked up together I get a feeling like I'm dealing with monopoly money. Its too small and colourful.
Meet some super nice people there today though- starting to feel a bit more like a real Mitarbeiterin there now, so cool.(Although still haven't gotten ma discount card- this I sure am Not pleased about.) BUT the boss did the cutest thing, ever!! Loads of people have been ill, colds and stuff- so she bought loads(and I mean loads!) of fruit and Activia yoghurt's and vitamin sweets and drinks for us all!! The staff room looked like a fruit stall!! (I ate about five oranges on my lunch break(at six in the evening..) and nicked a few kiwi's and apples as dessert this evening- may as well make use of the free vitamin's!)

HOME!!!!!!

I'VE BOOKED MY FLIGHTS HOME- woooooooo! 18th till 27th. Cannot wait. Although waking up at 4 on my birthday sure won't be fun.. But hey- I get to see ma fam that night so's all good.
Right now I'm defo going to bed- I know its only eight, but I literally don't care. Next week I'm working everyday from 1 till 8:30. Every friggin' day. They messed up, as they thought I wasn't a student as I'm English and I'm not at Uni.. talk about annoying! So now I have to find some way of proving I'm a student, but in the meantime I need to work all week- but defo gonna treat myself to a shopping trip when all this dollar comes in!!

I'm still massively in love with Spotify- this popped up on radio, defo prompted me to make yet another playlist.. I think I have too much time on my hands.
Last night was crazy- there was a party thingy at a student residence.. so many people, so much alcohol, so much going on, so good. We then managed to get the last tram into town- and then things start to fade.. But got home all good and it was super fun!
I've had such a lazy day today- eating all my food, have nothing left now.. uhh oh! Although this morning I actually cooked for myself, woo! I had my standard meal after a night out.. Scrambled eggs with onions. I know it sounds gross- but its amazingly fantastic!! Plus today I put a few peppers in too- seeing as I don't have any Peri-Peri sauce, which was my life in England, it went on everything. My god- I didn't realise how much I miss that sauce.. it was sooo good!!
Anyway I'm gonna have a bath and then go to bed me thinks- too tired to do anything else, HA! Love -x

- so unbelievable tired. Missed the tram this morning. Had to run to work. It was still dark. The birds were singing. Bakeries just opening. I didn't think when I applied to work at H&M I would have to be there at seven in the morning on a Saturday morning..!
Went to my fav pub again after work.. Coffee with baileys to remind me of my Mummy(who I miss a lot.) and to have a little read and quiet time- worked well. But now off out again after half an hour of shut eye.. Man its a hard life.(Seriously I'm shattered!)

A case of you..

So I should probably be in bed seeing as I have to get up in a few hours for work, but tbh I couldn't be happier right now!! My amazing red-haired beauty of a bestie sent me this song earlier, and I'm in love. Its perfect. We also just had a super good chat on skypey wypey, feel like I can go curl up in my annex of a bed, all happy and jolly now- thankyou baby!
Earlier me and Ingalill(my Norwegian friend) went to Schlappen again.. and I had fish fingers. Now for those who know me- this is a big deal. In England, I had fish fingers at least once a day- now tonight was the first time- THE FIRST TIME- I have had them since I got here!! Its fair to say, they tasted good.

Fillin' up ma pockets..

This song reminds me of my dad and a family holiday in Scotland- its also a personal favourite of mine to play! I love Steve Winwood's voice is just amazing, plus the fact they use a flute just puts them to the top of the list- dead cool man.
This morning Elodie and I went for our usual Starbucks trip, and I tried the new winter addition 'Lebkuchen Latte'- they probs have something similar in England.. but I think Lebkuchen is very German thing- its like a ginger type mini cake/biscuit thingy, and tastes beautiful! The taste of xmas! Anyway- it was rather lush, but super expensive, 4.10 euros as opposed to my normal 1.90 for an English Breakfast tea!! I mean come on- plus by the time I'd could drink it the cream on top had disappeared- not happy.(but it did still taste good, I guess..)
Off to go swimming with Elodie again in a bit- in fact in 15 mins, so this will be super schnell(fast) y'all gotta learn German from now on, 'cause I'm slowly losing the ability to remember English words..
Off to ma fav pub later with my Norwegian friend, but got work at seven tomorrow morning again- so it shall not be a late one..(she says..) HA!

I'm feeling very melancholy like today- dunno whether its the weather, boys, "school", missing friends, tiredness or generally having a slow day but man- I is in a shitty mood!!

This open-mic dealio has gotten me playing 'Dylan'(my guitar..) a lot more recently- which I defo happy about! Although I defo need to find myself a jamming partner..
Haven't really got much to tell right now.. Oh apart from, I MISSED FIREWORK'S NIGHT!! They don't have it over here, and its probs the first time, ever, I've missed the uni fireworks.. But it gets worse- 'cause I am also missing out on the fair this weekend!! Okay now I've found out my reason for this melancholy feeling.. Sucks, quite a bit.
Maybe I'll just eat these Domino Star things I've got here..(they taste amazing!!) I made my dear mother rather jel the other day when I sat eating them in front of her on Skype.. hehe! I DID IT MAN..

WOOOOOOO- just had one epic night. Unfortunately it came to an abrupt end as I wanted to catch the last tram home, but still it was a.maze.ing. After a few beers Oskar finally managed to persuade me to get up and play something. T'was kinda embarrassing as there had been a few rock groups with heaps of electro stuff around, so the mics and amps had been turned down a little. So when I started playing, apparently no-one could hear me, so half way through this guy stopped me, turned the mic up and I had to re-start. But after that minor hiccup, everything was fine and dandy.
I'm in love with pretty much the whole of Freiburg(of course..) but most importantly there the pubs and clubs I'm in love with. I.e- the Irish pub 'O'kelley's'- its good because its the closest thing to home here. The pub called 'Schlappen'- which I think means to slap.. But anyway its like an old jazz club or something- sells an amazing variety of whiskey's and stuff- but also does mean food and coffee's! Also of course, the 'White Rabbit' underground club/bar..(where I was tonight..) its so cool, its ice cold. LOL- no not quite, but it is a pretty awesome place to hang out on a Wednesday evening.. And finally, this cute bakery on the way to the station, its just so cute!! I have a small feeling I have already chatting about my fav places here, but ya know- I like to repeat myself, so as to make y'all more jealous, ha!

This is the life..

This really is the life out here- course this morning, then work, pub, home to eat, then pub again then open mic night!! I'm loving it!
Work today was super- we had our 'Kasse' training.. erm which is.. ah checkout training!(I so didn't have to use Google translate to get that into English.. uhh oh.) And although I was super nervous and shaking the entire time, I only managed to make three mistakes while actually working!! Woo. I have no idea why I've been shaking all day today, I had a cup of tea and since then I've been really jittery- v. odd! Ohwell- I hopefully get my 'Mitarbeiter' card on Saturday when I will have finally finished my main training ('schooling' they like to call it here..) so then I can go shopping avec my discount.. YAY!!
Right so I best go get ready.. Finished eating now, its all gogogo- its brill!!
Much love- it is Wednesday today right? Good- easy day tomorrow, only "school" and gym- yes! My big brother's coming to visit me next Friday- have I already said that? Soz.. I need to figure out what to do this weekend.. All I've got so far is work from 7-4 on Saturday.. Now we all know that sure ain't a fun shift!

Guardian..

So I'm a sucker for reading 'The Guardian'- and as my family is one for getting the paper everyday, its weird not having one here just to flick through.. So I've reverted to reading it online- it doesn't quite have the same effect, but I guess its good I'm keeping uptodate and that. At "school" we have to listen to the news from a radio and write about what has been said, its super hard- so as a cheeky to way to make it easier, read the latest stuff and then I'll have a general idea of what's gonna pop up! Oh yes I know- sooo clever!!
Just finished writing a few hundred words on how one learns a language- seriously this course work is getting so dull. I wanna do some history stuff. I'm thinking about taking the exam 'DSH'- which is basically the exam foreign students take when they wanna go to University in Germany.. I'm not saying I'm going to be moving out here permanently, but its worth taking the exam, just in case. If I don't get in, its no biggy(although neither Brummy or Leeds have accepted me on UCAS yet.. which I'm not liking!!)
Off to a take a bath- may dye my hair again, more reddy this time. Who knows..

We are kids..

So in summertime me and some friends were asked to participate in a Topshop charity catwalk event thingy. It was amazing!! So much fun- getting to wear the latest styles and get our hair and make-up done. Although I had coat hangers stuck in my hair for about four hours.. so maybe it wasn't too much fun ha! But anyway, there was an awesome playlist which we walked too, and I've finally gottten round to finding out which song was what..(maybe I also have too much time on my hands..)- but this is defo a goodun'! Much love for it right now.
Just been to the gym, got super loads of work to get done for tomorrow and then got work from one till six tomorrow too- oh its a fun life! BUT THEN.. its open mic time- now that I'm looking forward to!! Gotta try find some peps to come down and watch.. I am a little upset though- missing a Robben Ford gig tonight. Couldn't think of anyone who'd be interested and I think it would slightly odd if I went on my own.. Seeing as Robben Ford is mainly known by old, middle-aged men.. GUTTED!!
Anyway just had a lovely chat with my Mumma, now off to get some grubgrub- peace out.

Had Spotify on radio earlier and this popped up- realised I hadn't listened to it for ages, and its such a catchy little tune!
Had a few hours at work earlier- really starting to like it and get used to it now.. I don't wanna say its easy and jinx it, but it not exactly the hardest thing is the world(as long as I keep away from the phone that is..!) We get our discount card soon.. so bring on the shopping spree!!!!
I'm currently thinking about getting my nose pierced.. I've wanted it done for a while now, but always hesitated because of money and parents- who knows, maybe!
I'm gonna go learn this song now for Wednesday- super looking forward to playing, should be fun! Just been watching some scrubs while having dinner.. I love love love that program!!

I've been missing several things being out here, but one thing that's been in my head for a while is my record/vinyl player.. I bought it at a car boot sale last winter for only £9!! And after digging out all of my dad's old records, it became my life! I'd spend hours just flicking through the old albums.. Focus, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Michael Jackson, Dire Straits, Paul Simon, etc etc.. I really do miss that little blue box.
The weather here at the moment is so depressing- I just feeling like sleeping all the time ha!

It was one of my next door neighbours 19th birthday yesterday- my birthday greeting to her was shocking. First birthday we haven't seen each other.. sad. So just wanted to upload my fav picture of us two..

Charmless man..

Afternoon all- I'm feeling nice and lazy again today.. Visited my aunty and other friends last night, celebrated a birthday- it was brilliant to see everyone again, missed them so much! But after getting up at five on Saturday morning for work at seven, I was rather in the mood to sleep than party- but never the less I was fed brill food and plenty of beer and thus regained my energy for a night of card and drinking games!! Plus, I got a super breaky this morning from my cousins.. very much appreciated gotta admit.
Been doing some work for a bit, but defo in need of a break- think its gonna have to be 'Lord of the Rings'- I have a strange craving to watch it, how odd.. HA!
I've been reading a James Joyce 'Dubliners'- its so good. Mainly cause its a load of short stories about the Irish! Gotta love the Irish!! Makes me want to live in Ireland in 1914.. which I guess is kinda a weird thing to say ha!
So I had my second shift at H&M yesterday.. man it was, erm, well, tiring. We had some 'schooling' first, then went off into the storage section, it was funny but pretty boring.. plus kept getting dust in my eyes from those frigging wooly jumpers!! Although on the good side- got some pretty cute stuff in atm.. defo know what I'm going to be spending some of my first pay cheque on(plus discount- woooooo!!)

Kiss me..

Suddenly being all gushy and stuff.. Probs cause I've been eating REAL english chocolate which ma dear 'old' mother sent me along with various odd items I've requested! I have no idea how post works out here, I've sent letters and stuff to people, and some have got them, others not- odd beans!
These past two weeks have gone so crazily fast- its been amazing!! My first shift today was good- its strangely exciting tidying up clothes.. such a weird-o.
Read an artical in The Guardian today- 'Conversation: Billy Bragg and Johnny Flynn, where have all the protest songs gone? Well they should have been at the demonstation here the other week.. Defo some songs going on there(there are true hippie's here in the depth's of the Black Forest, ha!)
Off to bed now- gotta be at work for 7 tomorrow morning!! God knows how I'm gonna get there in time.. It'll be a miracle if I make it.. Schlaf gut Leute!

Halloween-ing it up..

Halloween piccy's- such a brill night! Shame I got so little out of the 27 I took- I guess that's the drawback of only having a disposable camera.. Should also probs learn to use the flash in dark places.. that might have helped, ha!
Currently eating my amazing dinner of tinned tomateos, cheese and bread. Got ma protein, veg and carbs all in one (tasty I'm not sure I can say..) meal!

Meadowlarks..

Finally I'm having a night in- being a total lazy bum too. Bath time, film time, eating time, maybe have a lil bit of work time in the middle somewhere too..
After last night, I'm starting to feel so settled out here. I love it. Totally shattered but that's a good thing right..?! I will defo wanna play there next week.. Gonna get practising some new stuff! Any suggestions?!
A guy was playing this.. I hadn't listened to Fleet Foxes in a while, so its nice to dig them out again. I'll put some pictures up from the Halloween party later on tonight..
So Elodie and I went for lunch at our usual place today- the Camden/Borough Market type place.. gets better every time!! She had to dash off for her afternoon classes, so I did a bit of strolling around- I'd been told by Oskar about this super Indie shop, so went on a hunt for that and my god! talk about expensive. Instead I decided to visit a vintage shop and a second hand place- but got another shock- the second hand shop was more expensive than YamYam(the Indie place!) Seriously, I really am getting withdrawal symptoms from not shopping in the charity shops in little ol' L-town!
Right going for my bath now- I've even got a face mask and everything, so really going all the way on the whole 'relaxing evening to myself' front.. Peace out!

Ain't no sunshine..

Just come home from the most amazing and impressive Open-Mic night. Underground. Smoky. Intimate. People sitting on the floor. And jamming after midnight. It was just perfect.
A band towards the end(the end being when we left, its still going on now probs..) sang this- the guy had the perfect voice. Oskar's dad(Oskar being the guy I was with..) joined in playing bass and then violin. It was just friggin' awesome!
Time for bed now though- "school" early tomorrow morning. Na'night!

Don't look back into the sun..

Last week Elodie and I ran into a demonstration(still not totally sure about what exactly they were protesting against.. something to do with money..) and decided to stick around, take a few photos, eat biscuits, drink lattes, and get told off by those scary German police men for taking photos of them- talk about fun! There seemed to be more police than there were demonstrators- crazy! I'm slowing cooling down after the weekend, but off to an Open-Mic night tonight, a guy I met on Monday night is playing- so gonna head on down to check it out. The place looks underground and is called 'White Rabbit'.. should be cool!(?)
So I've been getting horrid withdrawal symptoms from Spotify- its been hard not having it on all the time, so I've done something people have always told me off for.. I paid for it. I know I know- bad, but it had to be done, plus I didn't have to pay for lunch/dinner yesterday (or today actually..) so I have £9.50 spare.. ha!

I have had a friggin' awesome 'long' weekend- so tired now. Off to bed in a min, to get more than two hours sleep (more on last night tomorrow..) Defo starting to settle in now, even worked out how to get the night bus to pretty much in front of my house too- woo!
I've two proper meals this weekend, its great going to visit family in between going out- they defo look after you!!(even if you kinda fall asleep in church on Heilige Tag..(holy day to remember the dead)!)
In other news, I read in Rolling Stone that The Who are talking about going on tour to re-launch 'Quadrophenia' next year- I would SO be down for that!! He does also talk about Apple (and illegal downloading) being "a digital vampire, bleeding artists and destroying copyright as we know it." I feel bad- maybe I'll go buy a CD tomorrow..
On that note- I'm going bed (more photo's tomorrow btw..) !
